A Communication from Flight
As Flight of Mission Control Team (or chair of the convention committee) may I welcome you to the Satellite 2 website!
In 2007 we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the first space satellite with Satellite 1. 2009 brings us to the 40th anniversary of Neil Armstrong's 'one small step', and we mark this historic event with an even bigger and better convention. You can find more info on this website, but suffice to say it will be a fun convention with all the things you would expect: talks, panels, quizzes, dealers, art show, dead dog party and plenty of silly events.
Satellite 2 is extremely excited to have Iain M. Banks as our Guest of Honour. Iain needs no introduction, but for anyone not familiar with his work – Welcome to Planet Earth!
We will be updating the site regularly as our programme develops and watch out for the Adventures of Roger<Beep>. Roger is our convention mascot and has been travelling far and wide to promote Satellite 2.
We look forward to seeing you in July 2009 in Glasgow.
