The Hotel

The Convention will take place in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Congress Road, Glasgow. The hotel is situated about one mile from Glasgow City Centre and beside the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre. The hotel is well know to SF fans having hosted the 2006 Eastercon and was the principal hotel for the 2005 Worldcon.

A special room rate has been negotiated for convention members. Rooms will be available on Friday, Saturday or Sunday nights for a convention rate of £90 room per night (for either twin/double or single occupancy), inclusive of breakfast. For room bookings, please contact the hotel directly, quoting "Satellite 2". Please note that only a limited number of rooms are guaranteed, at these special rates, until 28th May 2009. So book early!

How to get there

The nearest public transport is a train on the Argyle Line from Glasgow Central Station to Exhibition Centre railway station, On exiting the station, turn sharp right and take the covered walkway to the SECC. Alternatively, a taxi from the city centre should cost no more than £4. The hotel is 8 miles from Glasgow International Airport. A taxi from the airport will cost about £15.
